Lyrics: Ophelia

To be released on an upcoming album

Ophelia’s come down from the castle,
She says she cannot believe,
Her feet, they are bleeding; her hair, it is wild;
She follows a circle of thieves;

Last time I saw her, her eyes were all ablaze,
She was counting on cards
And clinging to daisies
And praying to those who pray;

Oh, if she could trust him again,
Could look him straight in the eye,
But, she cannot, she cannot, she cannot, trust him again,
So, she’s losing herself in the sky;

Ophelia’s gone down to the forest
To walk where the light does not reach
She says that, ever since he took the sun,
She cannot recall how to see,

And the music she hears is
Discordant and strange,
Like somebody took all the melodies she knew
And had them rearranged;

Oh, if she could trust him again,
Could look him straight in the eye,
But, she cannot, she cannot, she cannot, trust him again,
So, she’s losing herself in the sky;

Ophelia’s gone down to the river,
Her skin is naked, it’s white,
Her hand holds his letter, the pages are torn,
Her fingers are trembling ice,

But her gaze, it is steady,
And her heart is deathly still,
It’s strange how quiet a heart might get,
Going in for the kill;

Oh, if she could trust him again,
Could look him straight in the eye,
But, she cannot, she cannot, she cannot, trust him again,
So, she’s giving herself to the sky.
